Edge Loss.

What is Edge Loss?

When you choose a gallery wrap the edges of your photo are wrapped around the sides of the frame. This is called edge loss. If your photo has important content close to the edges (like the child's head and body in the examples below) it will be lost around the sides. Edge loss decreases as size increases. Edge loss also decreases when a slim frame is selected.

Bad Candidates

In the examples below, the girls head is very close to the top edge of the photo. The edge loss that occurs on the deep framed A4 is dramatic. The slim framed A4 is better, but still not great. As the the size increases the edge loss is no longer an issue.

Good Candidates

In the examples below there is no important content close to the edges of the photo.

Manage the Risk

If your photo has important content close to its edges we recommend you:

• Choose a larger size
• Choose a slim frame
• Choose a different wrap
